TV brief:

1. When was TV invented? Who invented it? 
 Ans:-
The First Electronic Television was Invented in 1927. The world's first electronic television was created by a 21 year old inventor named Philo Taylor Farnsworth. 

2. What was the first TV station in the UK and what was the first programmes they ever broadcast?
Ans:-
The first tv station in the UK was BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) Television Service which launched in 1936. The fist programmes broadcasted were BBC one, BBC two and BBC news.

3. When did ITV start? What was the first ever programme ITV ever broadcast?
Ans:-
ITV launched in 1955, the fist programmed to ever broadcast on ITV was the ITV National weather forecast in 1989.

4. When and what was the first Drama TV programme ever created?
Ans:-
The overwhelming majority of BBC television drama produced during the 1930s. These included the first multi-episodic drama serial, Ann and Harold, a five-part story about a married couple which began showing on 12 July 1938. 

5. What are the 5 most popular TV programmes in the UK?
Ans:-
1. World cup: Croatia vs England - 20.7 million (ITV).
2. World cup: Sweden vs England - 17.4 million (BBC ONE).
3. Bodyguard - 14.3 million (BBC ONE).
4. I'm A Celebrity - 13.7 million (ITV).
5. Strictly Come Dancing - 12.9 million (BBC ONE).

6. When did the digital switch over happen?
Ans:-
In the United Kingdom, the terrestrial switch over started on 17 October 2007 and was completed on 24 October 2012

7. What are the 5 most popular TV  programme hosts in the UK and when did their programmes start?
Ans:-
i) Ant and Dec:- I'm a Celebrity (since 2002), Britain's Got Talent ( since 2007) and Saturday Night Takeaway ( since 2002). 
ii) Dermot O'Leary:-The X Factor (since 2007) and  Dermot hosts a regular radio show on BBC Radio 2 (since 2004).
iii) Gary Lineker:- Match of the Day (since 1999) and the NBC Sports Network (since 2015).
iv) Clare Balding:- Royal Ascot presenter (since 1995), BBC lead horse racing presenter (since 1997), she has also covered Wimbledon for Channel 5 since 1995. 
v) Graham Norton:- He began hosting his chit chat shows since 1998 and The Graham Norton Show launched in 2007. 

In conclusion, form my research i gathered information about when tv started broadcasting in the UK as well as finding out when channels like ITV and BBC and seeing that even though they came out a very long time ago till today they are still the most popular to watch as they show things like the world cup, i'm a celebrity, olympics etc.
